Multiple barriers and systemic challenges prevent low-income, homeless, formerly incarcerated, unemployed, and individuals lacking a high school diploma or G.E.D. from obtaining and maintaining employment.
Dr. Lagena Smith-Robinson is a visionary, a servant-leader, and coalition builder who can connect with any individual on any level. She is an experienced professional with more than 27 years of leadership and management expertise, as well as being an educator at various academic institutions. She held the position as Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Maryland Global Campus for more than 10 years, and currently serves as an Adjunct Professor, Business and Entrepreneurship Department at Prince George's Community College in the state of Maryland. Dr. Smith-Robinson is very passionate about economic empowerment, social welfare, and alleviating poverty in the community and a strong advocate against injustices directed at disadvantaged individuals. She founded INSPIRING G-STYLE, INC., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization in 2018 with the mission of increasing indvidual employability skills and providing life skills training to improve individual employability chances. The vision of INSPIRING G-STYLE, INC. is to create community economic stability by strengthening self-sufficiency and employment support systems in low-income communities. She has taken on “the call for action” to be a difference maker in the community by inspiring hope and providing supportive training services and programs that address systemic challenges to obtaining and maintaining employment.
Dr. Sharonda Hagans-Jones
Dr. Sharonda Hagans-Jones serves as the Director of Curriculum Design and she is our expert in designing customized training and curriculum design solutions for all of our educational training programs. Dr. Hagans-Jones has a deep passion for education, and a heartfelt desire to make a difference in the lives of learners and organizations. With over a decade of experience in the training and development industry, she is dedicated to enhancing organizational performance and individual skills through innovative and evidence-based training programs.
Ms. Johnetta Grimes
Johnetta Grimes is a versatile, performance-driven business professional with more than 18 years of management experience in successfully implementing strategic planning initiatives. She is versed in conducting research, providing analytical insight to various problems and is an excellent problem-solver. She is skilled in team building and participant motivation. Ms. Grimes is our program assistant and helps coordinate our training program services.
Dr. Theresa Odom
Dr. Odom is an experienced professional with strong technical knowledge, substantial business qualifications, and exceptional leadership abilities and is always ready to assist others. She has served in various management positions in both the public and private sectors. Dr. Odom is currently an independent contractor providing small business consulting. Dr. Odom is passionate about educating and helping students who struggle academincally and specializes in customizing instructional materials, learning instruction and approaches, and develops academic strategies and action plans. She also has extensive experience in accounting, business, economics, statistics, presentation, study skills, and organization.
Our programs and activities promote self-growth development, soft and hard skills training, coaching, mentoring, and real-world experiential learning.
